End of the week recap

Yay for Fridays!

It's been a busy week, and I'm ready for a quiet weekend at home! Luke has had a good week - he's doing really well with his solid foods, specifically with his prunes. We've been trying to consistently feed him solid food at dinner time so that he gets into a routine of eating then. Starting next week, his babysitter will give him rice cereal in the morning, so that he's getting solids twice a day. Exciting stuff!

He's getting really good at pushing himself up onto his arms, but then gets a bit freaked out and not sure what to do next! He can push himself backwards and around in a circle, but hasn't figured out how to move forwards yet.

Today Katie and I went to the Weeusables Consignment Event in Lancaster and picked up a few things.

My most exciting purchase was a Snugli baby carrier for $15.00!

Drew has wanted one of these for a while so that he can carry Luke around on his back or facing forward in front of him. It's certainly not a super nice name brand carrier, but for $15 it'll do! I'll have to get some photos of Drew carrying Luke in it......

Here are some photos from the last few days:

Finishing up the weekend.......

So we really had a nice weekend. Drew played the drums for student ministries on Sunday morning, and Luke and I stayed home. Luke had had a restless night, so we both had a nice lie in. We spent most of the day at home, and ran a few errands in the evening. We even squeezed in a walk during the afternoon!

I finally finished up Luke's photo wall - I put together most of it quite a while ago, but was missing pictures of Grampy, Kevin, and Lindsay. I signed up at www.cvs.com for their online photo ordering, and you get the first 25 prints for free! So I happily ordered a few free prints and stuck the missing pictures up. Now Luke can see everyone whenever he's on his changing pad! We go through everyone's names and point to the pictures. He should have them all memorized in no time!

PRUNES!

Prunes were on the menu tonight - Luke loved them!!

Just Hangin' Out

We had a great Saturday today! We had a relaxing day at home, and Luke actually slept quite a lot. However, while he was awake, he was quite happy!

Six month checkup!

So this evening we had Luke's six month checkup, and it went really well! He weighs 13lb 11oz, so he's gained 1lb 10oz since his four month appointment. His height is now 24.5 inches, which is 1 inch taller than at four months. He's definitely a little guy - he's on the low end of the growth chart, but the doctors are very happy with how he's growing. As long as he keeps growing like he is, they're fine with that. The doctor recommended that we start giving him prunes with his cereal, then add different fruits and veggies week by week. We can also try giving him a sippy cup soon, and closer to nine months, we can begin giving him finger foods - cheerios, puffs, etc. So exciting!! Of course, he had to get his third round of vaccinations tonight, which is never fun.....

A Conversation with Luke

Six Months Old!

Luke is six months old today!!

A bunch of people have told me that each stage with babies just keeps getting better, and they are so right! Luke is at a really fun age right now. For the most part, he's a really happy baby, and usually has a smile on his face. He loves to laugh and play, and he's so interested in everything that goes on around him! He can reach out and grab toys and likes to hold onto his bottle when we feed him. He has successfully rolled from his back to his front, then onto his back again. He can sit up on his own for about ten seconds before he starts to wobble, and he's starting to be able to catch himself. When he lays on his tummy, he props himself up with his arms and enjoys playing with his toys. He's beginning to push himself up on his arms, and kicks his legs around in an effort to move. He can spin himself around so that he's facing the opposite direction.

It's so amazing to see him accomplish all these things, when just a few months ago he was a little newborn! Tomorrow he goes in for his six month checkup, so I'll be sure to post all of his new height/weight stats.

Here's his six month photo:

Weekend Fun

We had a really fun weekend! Auntie Beth, Auntie Meg, and Asher were in town this weekend, and we got to spend lots of time with them. On Saturday we hung out at Marmee and Grampy's house, then had a yummy lunch together. We went to the mall in the afternoon, then went for a walk, ate dinner, and watched the Phillies clinch the division title!

Sunday was very relaxing. Luke did a great job in the nursery, and we had fun going to lunch with Grandma and Grandad. In the afternoon, we ALL got to nap, which was fabulous!! After that we did our grocery shopping, then ended the weekend by watching the Eagles game at Marmee and Grampy's.
