Catching Up

It's hard to believe that Luke is already two months old!! I think that time must slow down when you're expecting a baby, then speed up once the baby arrives!

We've had a busy week! We enjoyed spending time with friends on Tuesday, going to our weekly dinner at my parents' on Thursday, and last night we celebrated our fifth wedding anniversary :) We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Pressroom, followed by a movie - Water for Elephants. Mum happily agreed to babysit for the evening so that we could have an evening out by ourselves.

Luke is doing great - he's really beginning to smile and giggle more, and he's moving a lot! He loves to kick his feet and squirm around. Next Wednesday is his 2-month checkup, so it'll be interesting to see how much he weighs!

Our Weekend

We had a very nice weekend!

On Friday we had a lazy evening at home. On Saturday, Drew had three softball games! The first two were in the morning, so he went and played, and Luke and I stayed home. We slept in, then I gave Luke a much needed bath. After Drew got home, we ran some errands, then headed over to his third softball game around dinnertime. Finally, we ended our evening with a nice dinner with Matt and Katie before heading back home.

Today we went to the 11:00am service at church, spent a few hours at home, then headed over to Drew's parents' house for a bit. This evening we've been doing laundry and cleaning up around the house.

Luke is doing great - he is 8 weeks old today!! He's smiling more often, and getting bigger every day. Next week we'll be taking him to his two month doctor's visit. Can't wait to see how big he's gotten!

I have no time to post pictures!

As you can tell by the title, it's become quite hard to keep this blog updated! When Drew and I get home, our evening is consumed with taking care of Luke! By the time we have him fed, changed, and asleep in his crib, we're ready for bed too!

Luke is doing great! He's had a fun week hanging out with Lindsay. He's very alert and is awake for a good part of the day. He seems to be settling into a routine, which is good. Most nights he's only been waking up once to eat - usually around 3am or 4am - which has been soooooo nice for me and Drew. However, he still has the occasional night where he's up more than that.

Here are some photos from this week:

This Evening

Here's Luke sporting a new outfit!

Finally, a new post!

Well, I've successfully made it through my first week back at school, and now I'm working on week two! (which would account for the lack of updates!)

Mum did a great job taking care of Luke while I got used to being back at work. His biggest accomplishment last week was sleeping! Since Wednesday night, he's only been waking up one time during the night to eat!! I'm feeling much more normal now that I can actually get a decent amount of sleep at night.

On Sunday I had the pleasure of experiencing my first Mother's Day! We went to church in the morning, then had lunch at our house in the afternoon. Mum, Phil, and Audrie came over, and we ate outside. Drew fired up the grill for the first time this year, and everything was delicious. Mum and I went out later in the afternoon and hit up the sales at the Carter's Outlet. I was excited to pick up some new things for Luke - his newborn clothes are all too small!

And that brings us to today! It was a beautiful day, and Luke got to spend it with Lindsay, who will be taking care of him this week. I'm hoping to have her take some pictures of him so that I don't fall behind....!

Back to Work!

After six blissful weeks with Luke, I finally had to return to work on Monday. It's bittersweet - I'm enjoying being back with my students and coworkers, but I miss spending the day with Luke! The good news is that there are only six weeks left in the school year, then I'll get to spend the whole summer at home.

And obviously, since I'm not home during the day, it's been hard to take pictures! Mum has been watching Luke, so today when I got home we took a few. Enjoy!
