Eating, Playing, and Practicing Sitting Up

Good evening! Here are a few pics from yesterday and today. Luke is great! He's so much fun at this age, and is generally very happy. He really loves playing in his Exersaucer and is almost sitting up on his own! He can sit up for about 10 seconds before he starts tipping over. I'm sure he'll figure it out really soon.

Lesson #1
If it's on his hands, it'll get in his hair.

Lesson #2
Long sleeves are a bad idea.

Saturday at Home

Today we had a lazy Saturday at home. I haven't been feeling well since yesterday - very achy and running a high temperature. Drew was planning to go up to his parents' to mow this morning, and he offered to take Luke along so that I could sleep in. And sleep in I did! It's been such a long time (almost 6 months!) since I've been able to just sleep in and not have to worry about Luke waking up or needing to be fed, so it was really nice to be able to do that.

Once Drew and Luke got back, we spent the majority of the day at home and got some things done around the house. We did venture out this evening to do some grocery shopping, then came back home.

Luke has done a great job of eating single-grain rice cereal for the past two weeks, so tonight we picked up some single-grain oatmeal for him to try. So far, so good! He did great with it :) Once he's been eating the oatmeal for two weeks, then we can give him single-grain barley. And once he's good with the barley, he can try multi-grain cereal. And finally, once he's gotten all of that covered, we can start fruits and veggies - YAY!

Here's the oatmeal - basically we just mix it with his formula to create a sort of mush. Appetizing, isn't it?

Drew's Aunt Barbara was in town last weekend, and she got Luke this fun new toy. It's definitely his new favorite!

Now when we play on the floor, I have to lay down multiple blankets because Luke rolls right off if I only use one! He definitely doesn't stay in one place any more. And in these photos he's sporting a new sweatshirt from Marmee! The hood is a bit big, but otherwise it fits great!

No School!

What crazy weather! Yesterday my school dismissed kids early, and today it was closed altogether - along with most other schools in York and Lancaster. So instead of going to work, I got to spend the day at home with Luke!

Here are a few pictures from the park just on the other side of our neighborhood.....definitely haven't seen the river that high before!

Hello, September!

My apologies for going so long without a new post! I've been meaning to do an update for days, but we've just been so busy.... Now that I'm back at work, it seems like there's no time at all to get anything done!

I'll have to type up a more detailed post another time, but for now, here are my most recent photos:
