Bringing Luke Home: Week 1

We were so excited to finally bring Luke home! I was discharged on Tuesday, and Luke was discharged on Wednesday. There were a few errands we needed to run, so I stayed with Luke for the afternoon while Drew picked up the things we needed. We stayed in the NICU for one last feeding at 6:oopm, then headed home!

Wednesday evening Phil and Audrie came to visit, which was great. It was nice to have some extra support as we transitioned home.

Phil came again Thursday evening with a delicious meal, and Luke really enjoyed spending time with his uncle!

On Friday morning we drove to Wilmington, Delaware, for an appointment with a cardiologist to check on Luke's low heart rate. They did an E.K.G. and gave him a clean bill of health! We were very happy to hear that news.  That night we had fun visiting with Dad, Matt and Katie, and Lindsay, who was in town for a few days.

On Saturday morning Luke had his first visit at Roseville Pediatrics. He did great! He weighed in at 5lb 15oz, which was just a little less than his original birth weight.

Saturday afternoon Drew's family came over, and gave us the best gift ever - sleep! They happily babysat for us while we took a long overdue nap. For dinner we got takeout from Isaacs and had a delicious meal together.

And that was the end of week one - phew!
